Charles Levasseur is the Atlantic Regional Director of Assistive Technology and Occupational Therapy Programs and Services at Neil Squire. A certified bilingual Assistive Technology and Learning Disability Specialist, Charles brings more than 38 years of experience in technology, accessibility, and disability services, including a previous career as a Chief Technology Officer in the IT and eLearning sector.
Since joining Neil Squire in 2002, Charles has led numerous government, community, and accessibility initiatives across Atlantic Canada, helping individuals with disabilities achieve greater independence through assistive technology, accessibility solutions, training, and advocacy. He holds certifications from California State University, Northridge, and Cambrian College, and is widely recognized for his leadership in assistive technology and learning disability support.
Throughout his career, Charles has contributed to a variety of provincial and community organizations, including serving as Project Coordinator for Elections New Brunswick’s accessible voting initiatives, chairing avenueNB Cooperative, representing the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists, and providing expertise on accessibility and assistive technology to numerous committees and organizations.
His contributions have been recognized through several honours, including the New Brunswick Disability Awareness Week Provincial Award (2017), recognition from the Learning Disabilities Association of New Brunswick (2020), and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists Citation Award (2023). Charles also holds a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification for Non-Profits and an Advanced Amateur Radio Operator Certificate. He is fluent in both English and French and is passionate about leveraging accessibility, assistive technology, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to create a more inclusive future for people with disabilities.
